a time for peace

- standing against occupation

blockages in the West Bank

One daily reality here is that the Occupation creates blockages that are time consuming and often expensive to negotiate.  The army suddenly decides to close a road, so Palestinian travelers must find another, longer way to where they need to go.  Or phone calls can’t get from the Israeli phone system to the less resourced Palestinian system.  The Separation Wall, in all of its forms, creates a blockage in this land in the largest visual and physical way.  As I have moved into Bethlehem, suddenly I have discovered that the dual electronic technology is creating a blockage for me as I try to share my time here with others.

My blog has unexpectedly gone Arabic!  And since I am not educated enough to figure out the problem that means I am changing my blog site (from prpatwoods.blogspot.com to this one at patwoods.wordpress.com).
I am learning that taking a longer way to get things done is something which can’t always be fought – or, at least, won!  So I am sending out a new link and will eventually transfer my earlier posts to this site.  (I hear it will also be easier to make comments – please let me know if that’s true.)

I am also welcoming some new readers as I expand my contact list.  I hope as you take time to read this blog you will learn something new, share your insights, and enjoy getting to know some new Palestinian friends!  Welcome!
